Scholar's work in South America helps fight Chagas disease in the U.S.

Phys.org reports that Gabriel Hamer, a Texas A&M entomologist, spent three months in Argentina on a Fulbright U.S. Scholar fellowship studying Chagas disease. The disease is a parasitic infection endemic to Central and South America.
