Gas supply disruption persists in Balochistan as repair work awaits security clearance
world
An eighteen-inch gas pipeline serving parts of Balochistan was blown up on Wednesday night, per Dawn, in the Bolan riverbed area of Kachhi district. Explosives were planted beneath the line and detonated remotely, disrupting gas supply to multiple districts including Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, and Pishin. Repair teams from the Sui Southern Gas Company are ready to begin work but are awaiting security clearance from authorities to enter the damaged area. Three days after the blast, no repairs had begun, leaving thousands of consumers without gas.
