BBC was warned of author’s claim to possess missing clothes of child murder victim

The BBC was warned by two whistleblowers about a true crime author's claims tied to a child murder case, The Guardian reports. According to the paper, the corporation's former head's office and its whistleblowing unit were told that Christopher Berry-Dee, described as the UK's most successful true crime author, had said he'd obtained clothing belonging to Karen Hadaway, a child murdered in 1986, clothing the BBC itself had lost.
