NSW beaches to get dawn-to-dusk drone patrols in $34m anti-shark program

The New South Wales government is investing thirty-four million dollars in a coastal safety initiative: drones will patrol seventy beaches from dawn to dusk, year-round, to spot sharks before they pose a threat. The program follows a series of shark sightings and attacks, including a great white encounter with Sydney swimmer Leah Stewart at Coogee Beach. Premier Chris Minns says the measure will restore beachgoers' confidence in the water.
