Gaza plan at risk, again

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected the fifteen-point Gaza roadmap brokered by the United States, insisting his troops won't withdraw until Hamas is, in his words, genuinely disarmed. Dawn reports the plan called for a phased Israeli pullback alongside Hamas surrendering its heavy weapons under the supervision of a transitional Palestinian technocratic body, which Hamas had already agreed to. According to Dawn, Netanyahu's rejection now threatens to unravel the ceasefire altogether, with Washington so far offering no public response.
