AI learns to spot tomato diseases using nearly 9,000 field images

A new AI model trained on nearly nine thousand tomato leaf images is designed to detect crop diseases in the field. Phys.org reports the breakthrough could reduce harvest losses and the health risks from chemical pesticides that farmers currently use to manage disease.
