The Moon's shadow raced across the heart of Spain, and I was there to see it
science
As Ars Technica's Stephen Clark witnessed, a total solar eclipse crossed Spain—a rare celestial alignment where the Moon's shadow moves in perfect synchronization with the Sun. Having already viewed eclipses in the American heartland in twenty seventeen and twenty twenty-four, Clark chose not to wait until twenty forty-four for the next continental United States eclipse. Spain's severe drought, while devastating for the region, created excellent viewing conditions for the astronomical event.
