What 27 AI Safety Generalists Are Building This Summer

Per LessWrong, twenty-seven AI safety generalists participated in the first cohort of Berkeley's Generator Residency this summer, a three-month program run by Kairos and Constellation. The residents tackled projects including a workshop to help experienced professionals enter the field, a cross-organizational talent directory, management training for new leaders, model welfare research and tools, and support for university AI safety groups. The program pairs residents with experienced mentors and researchers to address what organizers see as gaps in the AI safety ecosystem.
