Good-faith lawsuit? LDS church in fight with podcaster over Mormon name

business

According to The Guardian World, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is suing an excommunicated member over his podcast called Mormon Stories. The church claims trademark and copyright infringement. But John Dehlin, who created the show, argues the term Mormon belongs in the public domain—free for anyone to use. The irony: the church itself has spent years trying to distance itself from the Mormon label, even officially dropping it from its name. Now it's in court trying to prevent others from using the same term.
