UK retailers too slow to pass on fuel price falls, watchdog says

Some UK petrol stations are moving too slowly to pass wholesale price declines on to consumers, according to the Competition and Markets Authority. With fuel costs elevated due to conflict in the Middle East, the CMA flagged what it calls 'passive pricing strategies' — practices helping retailers keep profit margins high. The watchdog has now sent more than one thousand warning letters to stations that haven't reported prices to the Fuel Finder transparency service.
