[$] Fedora prepares for the end of AF_ALG

LWN.net reports that Fedora is preparing to restrict AF_ALG, the Linux kernel's user-space interface to the Crypto API, in its upcoming release. The interface has been linked to high-profile security vulnerabilities including Copy Fail and successor attacks, spurring kernel developers to work toward its removal. By restricting it now, Fedora is giving remaining users a window to migrate their applications before the eventual kernel removal.
