NASA’s B777 Gets New Coat of Paint

Per NASA, the agency's Boeing 777 research aircraft has received a fresh new paint scheme and is set to become a flying laboratory. Acquired to replace the retired DC-8, the B777 will operate from Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, starting in twenty twenty-seven. The aircraft will support global data collection for sensor development, satellite calibration, data validation, and field studies to improve understanding of Earth's systems and climate models.
