According to The Guardian, Australia's Electoral Commission questioned Pauline Hanson's One Nation party over more than eight hundred thousand dollars in claimed election spending. Documents obtained through freedom of information show the party withdrew over one hundred forty items—representing roughly fifteen percent of their six point zero one million dollar public funding claim—after the Electoral Commission inquired whether the spending met legal requirements. The commission is now examining whether the party breached electoral funding laws.
