IP Crawl exposes that insecure web camera you never locked down
tech
According to Boing Boing, a new tool called IP Crawl has catalogued thousands of internet-connected cameras left completely unsecured and visible online. The collection includes a swimming pool in Austin, a boxing ring in New York, and a marijuana farm in Droitwich, England. You can check your own location to see if any exposed cameras are pointed at your address. While some feeds show pleasant outdoor views like Lausanne in Switzerland, most reveal private spaces left vulnerable by operator oversight. It's a stark reminder that many people who install connected cameras never bother to password-protect them.
