Computer scientist Cole Wyeth and Marcus Hutter published an accessible introduction to real hypercomputation. The paper focuses on applications to algorithmic information theory and was designed to build technical foundations for studying AIXI, a theoretical model in AI research. The project expanded beyond its initial scope, though Wyeth indicates future research will focus more sharply on AI safety. The work received support from the Long-Term Future Fund.
