Vertical B2B Leader Owner Acclerated After $100M ARR With Agents. The Key Insight: Every Time a Customer Logs In, Owner Has Failed.

saas

SaaStr reports that Owner, a vertical SaaS platform for restaurants, now sees more than 83 percent of new customers start with its free AI product, up from zero two years ago. The company, approaching one hundred million dollars in annual recurring revenue, argues that logins are now a failure signal—if a customer is manually fixing what the software did, the software didn't do its job. Founder Adam Guild says agents only pay off on top of an extremely opinionated product, and that opinionation is what insulates the company from foundation models like Claude and ChatGPT. His key warning: growth metrics are a lagging indicator of a platform shift, so the numbers looked fine even while the ground was moving.
