Variety reports that Watermelon Pictures has acquired North American rights to the migration drama "Ashes," directed and co‑written by Diego Luna. The deal was announced after the film’s world premiere at Cannes and ahead of its Toronto debut next month. The project adapts the feminist novel "Ceniza en la boca," and the film will next be seen at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
