Launch Dress Rehearsal Complete Ahead of NASA Roman Space Telescope Liftoff
science
NASA Science reports that the team behind the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has completed a full dress rehearsal for launch day. The exercise simulated the entire countdown, including powering up the spacecraft, fueling the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket, and running through mock weather briefings and troubleshooting scenarios. With the rehearsal done, the mission is one step closer to liftoff, currently targeted for no earlier than seven twenty-six a.m. Eastern on Sunday, August thirtieth, from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex thirty-nine A. The telescope will survey the sky to study dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics.
