Brent crude has edged higher as tit-for-tat military strikes between the United States and Iran threaten to delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical shipping lanes for oil exports. Nearly a third of globally traded seaborne oil passes through this narrow waterway between Iran and Oman. Any disruption there can send shockwaves through energy markets worldwide.
