Millions in Cuba face water shortages as oil crisis deepens

France 24 reports that a seven‑month oil blockade imposed by the Trump administration has deepened power outages and left more Cubans without running water. The Cuban Institute of Hydraulic Resources said that in August two point six million people struggled to access water, a figure that has risen to three point five million – roughly a third of the island’s population. Ed Augustin notes that the growing shortage is raising health risks across the country.
