According to Variety, a new feel-good comedy called 'Agnes & Amir' premiered at the Munich Film Festival, telling the true story of an unlikely friendship between Agnes, a one-hundred-one-year-old Berlin woman, and Amir, a young gay Iranian refugee. Director Helena Hufnagel created the film inspired by her own grandmother's real-life experience with a similar relationship. As Hufnagel put it, 'she lived the story we were telling.' It's a human-interest tale that found its way to the screen.
