Crime Control Department constable held responsible for death of Australian girl in Chakwal
world
Dawn reports that an inquiry into the death of nine-year-old Australian national Hania Ahmed has held a constable with Punjab's Crime Control Department responsible. The constable opened fire on the family's car during a robbery outside a police station in Chakwal in June, killing Hania and injuring her father and brother. The inquiry rejected the constable's claim that he acted in self-defence, noting he fired without permission from senior officers. The report has been submitted to prosecutors, and the trial is expected to begin in September.
