Andy Burnham says he wants to bring men’s World Cup back to UK in 2042

The Guardian reports that Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, wants to bring the men's World Cup to the UK in 2042. At a meeting in Manchester on Friday, the prime minister told regional mayors he was keen for the tournament to be played in the British Isles. That would mark the first time the competition has been held in the UK in almost eight decades.
