Man leaves young son on Mount Fuji before ascending Japan’s highest peak

per The Guardian, a seven-year-old boy was left on Mount Fuji after telling his father he felt tired during a family hike. The Guardian reports that a mountain worker found the child sitting alone near the sixth station at an altitude of more than two thousand metres, or about six thousand five hundred feet. Mount Fuji remains a popular destination for hikers each summer.
