A museum-shelf mystery reveals 6,500-year-old human tooth pendant in Serbia

Phys.org reports that a human tooth pendant dating back more than six thousand five hundred years has been identified at a Vinča cultural site in Serbia. The tooth, originally mistaken for an animal tooth bead, was likely drilled and strung on a cord to be worn as a necklace. Archaeologists Nemanja Marković and Ana Maričić made the identification after taking a closer look at the specimen.
