The Shutter Makes This 3D Printed Camera Special
tech
Hackaday notes that a maker called Camera Things has 3D printed a film‑camera shutter whose opening can be adjusted on the fly, mimicking a variable‑speed shutter. The clever mechanism uses two sliding strips and a rubber‑band‑driven blind strip that can be partially retracted to change the width of light reaching the film. While the creator is moving on to a more complex leaf‑type design and hasn’t released the CAD files, proficient hobbyists could still recreate the variable shutter themselves.
