Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that holding elections during the current war would pose a threat to the country. France 24 reports that this statement follows a controversial call for an election from his former defense minister. A summer opinion poll by the Kyiv Institute of Sociology found that only fifteen percent of those surveyed want a vote to be held at this time.
