Govt fails to maintain quorum as PPP stays away from National Assembly
politics
Dawn reports that Pakistan's ruling PML-N suffered an embarrassing setback in the National Assembly on Monday, as the house was adjourned within minutes for lack of quorum. The PPP stayed away over alleged rigging in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, and an opposition member from the PTI pointed out the shortfall. PPP's Sharmila Farooqui posted 'No PPP, no quorum, simple' on X, and said the party would not cooperate on quorum or legislation until its grievances are addressed. The deputy speaker later adjourned the sitting until Tuesday, and the PPP has since sought cooperation from opposition leaders on parliamentary business.
