The Guardian reports that the number of households in New South Wales in urgent need of priority social housing has reached thirteen thousand seven hundred seventy-six, the highest level in more than a year. The overall waitlist has stayed around seventy thousand since May, but urgent need is growing six times faster than general need, and the Guardian notes that every month, a bigger share of those waiting are people who cannot afford to wait.
