Literary Hub reports that pop star Billie Eilish is set to make her film debut as the lead in a new adaptation of Sylvia Plath's novel The Bell Jar, with acclaimed director Sarah Polley at the helm. The singer's on‑screen look—scarlet knit top, checkered A‑line skirt and bold red lip—was crafted by costume designer Luis Sequeira, known for his work on The Shape of Water. Filming is taking place in and around Toronto, using sites in Hamilton such as the former Mount Mary Immaculate school, which will stand in as the novel's infamous Walton Hospital. The cast also includes Carey Mulligan as Esther Greenwood's mother, while other roles remain under negotiation.
