Deaths in Township police custody: Forensic report confirms women were addicts: IGP

world

According to Dawn, Punjab's police chief says a forensic report has determined that two young women who died at a Township police station in Lahore had been using nine kinds of intoxicating substances, which caused fatal cardiopulmonary arrest. Inspector General Abdul Kareem told a press conference on Tuesday that a medical board of senior doctors prepared the findings, and that although the two deaths occurring at the same time was unusual, the report attributes both to drug use rather than mistreatment during interrogation. The deaths occurred while the women were in police custody.
