Researchers are using machine learning to improve the performance and lifespan of quantum dot LEDs, which are prized for their bright, pure colors. As Physics World reports, the team used a Support Vector Regression model to identify the ideal solvent mix for creating more uniform films of quantum dots. This optimized approach resulted in devices with higher efficiency and better stability than those made with single solvents.
