Anthropic has cut off access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 following a government order on national security grounds. According to The Verge, the U.S. government required the company to block the models for all customers worldwide, including Anthropic employees. Rather than implement regional restrictions, the company chose a complete blackout. The order came Friday evening. While specifics remain undisclosed, this represents one of the most significant government interventions in AI model access to date.
