Researchers at MIT have developed a new AI framework called Crys-V-C-D to help design stable, real-world materials more efficiently. While current AI can generate millions of material designs, most are chemically unstable and require massive computing power to filter out. As MIT News tells it, this new approach applies chemistry rules at the start of the process, allowing researchers to achieve high stability in nearly seventy percent of their generations. The team demonstrated that the system can create materials with high thermal conductivity, which could be critical for cooling energy-hungry data centers.
