ReactOS (FOSS "Windows") achieves 3D-accelerated Half-Life on real hardware

ReactOS, a community volunteer project to build Windows from scratch using open-source code, has crossed an important technical threshold: it now runs the graphically-demanding 1998 game Half-Life with full 3D hardware acceleration. Per Phoronix, this accomplishment underscores how far the project has come in achieving Windows API compatibility and graphics support. For the open-source community, it's evidence that a truly viable free alternative to Windows is becoming feasible.
