Two Italian brothers claimed to have recorded dying Soviet cosmonauts that Moscow erased from history
science
According to Boing Boing, the Lost Cosmonauts theory suggests the Soviet Union sent humans into space before Yuri Gagarin's celebrated 1961 flight—but those early cosmonauts didn't survive. Italian amateur radio operators Achille and Giovanni Battista Judica-Cordiglia, working from Turin in the early 1960s, claimed to have intercepted radio transmissions from doomed Soviet spacecraft between 1960 and 1964. If authentic, their recordings would be evidence of a Cold War space race tragedy Moscow quietly erased from history. The theory remains contested, but the Judica-Cordiglia brothers' intercepts stand as the strongest alleged proof that the Soviet Union's earliest crewed spaceflight program may have ended in secret disaster.
