The FBI built a small town to simulate cyberattacks

tech

According to The Verge, the FBI has opened a 22,000-square-foot cyber training facility in Huntsville, Alabama—essentially a fully functional fake town complete with hospitals, gas stations, and homes. Called the Cyber Range, it simulates real-world cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, allowing agents to practice defending the digital systems powering everyday services. The facility adapts the model of Hogan's Alley, the FBI's famous firearms and tactical training ground, but for the modern threat landscape where attacks target the networks behind hospitals and power grids.
