According to France 24, Russia launched a major air assault on Kyiv on Monday, striking the Ukrainian capital with drones and missiles. The attack damaged the Pechersk Lavra monastery, one of Ukraine's most historically significant religious sites, leaving it ablaze. Twenty people were injured in the strikes, which caused widespread destruction across the city and knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of residents. Ukrainian air defenses were activated in response to the intensified bombing campaign.
