The Hurricanes' path to the title was built on one thing: relentless, suffocating defense. They held the Golden Knights to just five goals combined in Games Four and Five, then capped it off with a complete shutout when it mattered most. After twenty years, the Hurricanes' defensive wall finally delivered a championship.
