MLB strikes out in 'Play Ball' trademark quest

Major League Baseball's attempt to trademark the phrase 'Play Ball' has been rejected by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The office ruled that the phrase is too commonplace to protect, according to ESPN News. Looks like some catchphrases are just too fundamental to own.
