According to ScienceDaily, a review of nearly 154,000 people found that calcium and vitamin D supplements provide little meaningful protection against fractures or falls in older adults. The finding challenges the conventional wisdom that positioned these supplements as essential bone defense—a belief that's shaped supplement consumption among millions. For most older adults, the heavily-promoted supplements may not deliver the protection they're marketed to provide.
