Ford is accelerating its electric vehicle strategy with a Universal Electric Vehicle platform designed to underpin all future EVs. The highly modular design is meant to reduce development costs and speed time-to-market. According to the Adafruit Blog, much of the engineering is happening at Ford's Electric Vehicle Development Center in Long Beach, California, positioning the company to rapidly prototype designs while keeping prices competitive for mass-market adoption.
