Former AFL star Nicky Winmar jailed for six months for assault on woman

Former AFL star Nicky Winmar has been jailed for six months over an unprovoked assault on a woman in Cohuna, northern Victoria, in May 2025. The sixty-year-old was sentenced in Bendigo magistrates court on Friday, according to the Guardian, and his barrister says he'll appeal both the conviction and the sentence.
