Sennheiser's BA2015 battery pack powers a significant portion of their wireless microphone lineup—and carries a hefty price tag. Electronics hacker Martijn Braam is working on cloning the pack, which uses safer NiMH chemistry rather than lithium-ion. While these mics can run on regular AA batteries, they won't charge in the dock. An open-source alternative could save users serious money, according to Adafruit.
