SpaceX Is Buying Cursor

dev_tools

According to BBC News, SpaceX has agreed to acquire Cursor, an artificial intelligence coding startup, for $60 billion in shares—just days after the company's historic initial public offering valued it at over $2 trillion. The acquisition consolidates SpaceX's push into AI development; Cursor uses machine learning to automate software engineering, much like competing tools from OpenAI and Anthropic. The company is already used by major firms including Stripe, Adobe, and Nvidia. SpaceX plans to combine Cursor's technology with its Colossus training supercomputer to develop what it calls "the world's most useful models." The deal closes by September 2026.
