According to Boing Boing, scammers are selling AI-generated plant images as real seeds on eBay and Etsy. One seller managed more than thirty-seven thousand sales of fake rose seeds before getting banned. The listings feature obviously artificial plants—hostas that look like screaming demon shrimps, butterfly-shaped vegetation, and patriotic shrubs—yet buyers kept ordering. It's a reminder that even on established platforms, buyer beware remains the golden rule.
