PCB complains after interview with Imran’s sons telecast during Test

Dawn reports that the Pakistan Cricket Board has lodged a formal complaint with broadcaster Sky Sports after an interview with former prime minister Imran Khan's sons aired during the first day of the second Test against England at Lord's. The interview, recorded on the eve of the match and broadcast during a rain-delayed lunch, focused on concerns about Imran Khan's health after nearly three years in custody, with his sons describing significant deterioration in his eyesight and saying they feared for his life. According to Dawn, the PCB had warned Sky Sports before the broadcast that players might refuse to return for the afternoon session, and considered instructing the team not to take the field in protest. Sky Sports delayed the interview but eventually aired it in full, and the players did return as scheduled, with the England and Wales Cricket Board helping to ensure the match continued without disruption. Separately, Australian captain Pat Cummins became the first active international captain to publicly support calls for Imran Khan to receive proper medical care, adding his voice to a letter from 21 former captains that urged completion of a court-ordered medical assessment.
