Rain frustrates England's bid for Pakistan series win

sports

Dawn reports that rain on Saturday halted play before lunch on the third day of the second Test at Lord's, leaving England's bid for a series‑clinching win in limbo. England were at eighty‑one for three in their second innings, holding a lead of two hundred sixty‑one runs after dismissing Pakistan for a meagre one hundred ten. Ollie Robinson’s four for eleven and Jofra Archer’s three for twenty‑six had set the tone, while opener Emilio Gay stood unbeaten on thirty and Harry Brook on seven, still chasing his first Test century in over a year. Umpires will inspect the conditions at one fifteen pm, and if the rain holds, play could resume later in the day.
