Argentina most exposed to AI impact in Latin America, study finds

ai

The Buenos Aires Herald reports that a new study finds Argentina is the Latin American country most exposed to generative AI's impact on the labor market. The Economic and Social Council of Buenos Aires City, using International Labor Organization data, gave Argentina an exposure score of zero point two nine two — higher than Chile, Brazil, and Mexico, and surpassed in the Americas only by Canada and the United States. The study ties the high exposure to Argentina's urbanization and a service sector that employs seventy-eight percent of the workforce. Buenos Aires City itself scores even higher, and the authors call it the first city-level analysis of its kind. The next phase will bring companies, unions, and city officials together to guide how AI adoption unfolds.
