Mexico ended a forty-year wait for a World Cup knockout victory on Tuesday. According to France 24, they defeated Ecuador two to nothing, with goals from Julián Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez. It was El Tri's first win beyond the group stage since nineteen eighty-six, when Mexico hosted the tournament.
